The Half-Silvered Mirror
for Solo Cello and Loop Pedal
The driving creative idea behind this piece is the conception of history as a two-way mirror (or a half-silvered mirror) in that we can look into the past, but people in the past, or even the present can't look into the future. With that in mind, I am aiming to juxtapose the unlooped material and the looped material and kind of pose them as romantic versus modern, respectively.
